We Were Terribly Misinformed
Remember when we were kids and grown-ups used to tell us that if we dug deep enough we'd get to China? Well, they were a little off.
Go to Antipodr.com and see where we'd have been...or where you'd be if you started digging now, were able to blast through rock, weren't instantly vaporized as you got near the core of the earth, and the whole project held your attention long enough to finish (if you didn't die of old age, anyway).

I thought that if I could dig that far with out getting vaporized and all that jazz, that there'd be some Chinese kids half way in between trying to dig their way to America. Or maybe I'd pop up in their yard and they'd be sitting around scratching their heads trying to figure out what this round eyes is doing in their sand box. So as it turns out, I'd actually end up in the Indian Ocean. Man, I better learn how to swim!
