Killz ur Eyez!

i designed a pattern for class using Photoshop... Yay!

I'm happy with the result. It looks like kArAzY wrapping paper for a boy's b-day or something...

One of my classmates did a really pretty, girly one. I wish I could post it.

Hers probably wouldn't hurt your eyes if you stared at it too long. <8-|

It doesn't hurt my eyes, but it is crazy. Crazy cool.

Is there some kind of formula or trick to getting the pattern right so that it all matches up when you repeat it?

Yeah. You have to be able to split the image into 2 or four pieces and place them along the edges or corners of the square you're creating the pattern in.

You also have to align everything perfectly, so I use A LOT of line guides to keep the measurments and placements even.

...In a nutshell. ;-D

Uh oh, you mean I have to measure stuff? I'm screwed. Yours will make you dizzy if you stare at it long enough but I still love it.

Oooohhh...I wanna do that. I found a tutorial but Jazzy and I are probably the only ones with access to the cool tools needed to do this (Illustrator and Photoshop).

Jazzmin: if you use Illustrator to do your shapes or drawings you can pull them into Photoshop as Smart Objects. Then when you want to change the pattern you don't have to start all over - you just edit the Smart Object and voilĂ  - instant makeover.

I should do a new background for the blog. Can't make it crazy though - gotta be able to look at it long enough to read the posts and stuff.

Says, WHO?!

The crazier the better!

Maybe just make the tiles bigger than 1 inch, so it's easier on the eyes.

:-D

I know what you can do for a career...design paper. Scrapbooking is really big now and people spend big bucks buying the stuff. For a 12 X 12" designer paper in the scrapbook stores it's $.25 - $.50 per page. The company I sell through sells in pack it's $9.95 for 12 sheet (double sided). If we ever get rich we can open a plant, you design, Charles makes, I do the paperwook. You can design from anywhere.
