*Sigh* A Whole Year 'til Next Halloween

Hello, Family!

School is good and work is great.

The only major new thing in my life is that I started sewing more again (now that I finally rescued my machine from Grandpa's).

I've been altering shirts 'n' what-not... I even started making vests, shrugs, and button-down dresses/tops (like the kind that Dickies makes).

NE-wayz... I thought I'd post pics of my Halloween costume for everyone. Yay!

So, this year I went as a Mad Scientist.

This is my costume. (I know it is pretty "showy", but I had to take that I was going clubbing in consideration and that it would get hot. However, it's still not as revealing as some of the other costumes I saw. 0_0)

It looks better when I have my lab coat on. (Unfortunately this blurry crud is the only decent picture I have of me wearing it. Gah!)

This is a picture of my lab coat. (I altered a green trench coat I got off of eBay.)

My favorite part of my costume is my "Cyborg Eye" goggles. I rigged it up myself using a mini light from one of the candy displays at work. The light actually blinks too!!!

Last, but not least... Every Mad Scientist needs an experiment, so I made cat backpack I found at the Goodwill into my Franken-Critter, so I'd have something cool to carry my candy 'n' stuff in. (Mwuah ha ha!)

BEFORE

AFTER

I hope everybody did something fun for their Halloween! I know I enjoyed myself greatly!

Next year, I will probably dress as Evil Emperor Zurg from Toy Story 2.

If not, I'm at least going to attempt to make the costume for the sake of making it...just beacause it's cool.

Artsy-Fartsy Awesomness.....IN 3D!!!!!

This semester, in one of my art classes, I have been learning how to illustrate and render characters and objects in 3D.

Here are some of my CrEaTiOnZ!

Title: Unwelcomed Visitor

Title: Anarchy in the Pond

Title: Dragon World

and last, but NOT LEAST............

Title: THE MAN-ZORD
There is a long and interesting explanation to his name and existence, which I will reveal at a later time.

YAY! That was my art..... I'm sad that this semester is ending; I'll miss making all these 3D wonders. My teacher is really cool though, and will let me audit the class to learn how to animate them and build my portfolio.

Also, this summer, I'll be taking a Digital Photography class and working with fancy expensive cameras. w00t!!!

Killz ur Eyez!

i designed a pattern for class using Photoshop... Yay!

I'm happy with the result. It looks like kArAzY wrapping paper for a boy's b-day or something...

One of my classmates did a really pretty, girly one. I wish I could post it.

Hers probably wouldn't hurt your eyes if you stared at it too long. <8-|

Artsy-Fartsy Fun!!!

Here are some projects I did last Fall in my Digital Imaging class ('cause I know you all love looking at them)!

*Mardi Gras Mask; Title: Money, Money, Money. I got the idea from the movie Cabaret, along with an actual mask that I made. The main objective of the project was to show off our ability to use layer-masks, 'n' what-not.

*Pattern-Making Project; Title: The Mad Pattern. My theme was a Mad Scientist's Lab and all of his creations. I made each individual pattern and put them together to make the giant W.

The titles of the patterns are as follows (L-R): "It's Alive!" Text, "DNA", "Vile Vial", "Brain-In-Jar", "Franken-Cog Fishken", "It's my creation! Is it real?!" Text, "Mad, Mad Scientists", "Bad Brew", "Lab Rats", and "Franken-Babe".

*U.S. Stamp Final; Title: Le Cirque Stamp. It was inspired by Cirque du Soleil. The woman is an "Aerial Silk" artist. (It's hard to explain, but if you look it up, it's really cool.)

I couldn't make and actual Cirque du Soleil stamp because of copyright issues. (My teacher wanted it to be purely original... I don't blame her.) So, in the end, I came up with "Le Cirque du Reves" wich means "The Circus of Dreams."

Ta-Da! That's all for now!

Next time I post artwork, I'll post the infamous "Wet, fighting Hot Dog"!!!

Get Rich Slow

A while back I did some T-shirt designs and put them up in a Cafe Press store. Mostly I did it to vent or show a little attitude, but I figured it wouldn't hurt if someone bought one and I made a couple of bucks.

Those of you with a creative bent or even just a good sense of humor (my designs are nothing more than cool type) ought to try it. You would need a good graphics editing program like Illustrator or Photoshop, though. I bet Jazzmin has the tools and could do some crazy stuff that Goth-ish people would buy (I believe "goth" is one of the more popular search terms on Cafe Press, BTW).

There are other places you can make and sell your own stuff - I just happened to do this one. I'm not getting rich, but I have sold several shirts and made $30 - not bad for something that cost me nothing and that I haven't promoted at all. People seem to like the Bad Mama Jama shirt ; )

You are invited to the Wedding of Jazzmin...

PSYCH!!!

One of the projects for Desktop Publishing was a "Greeting Card", but I made a wedding invitation instead because I liked the idea better. NE-wayz... This is what I did...

OUTSIDE

INSIDE

I like the way they came out! The only thing that bugged me was the names 'n' stuff because I wanted them to seem realistic (ish), but too much... And then I I couldn't think of what to put for parent's names because even though dad died, he's still my dad...but him and mom are/were divorced and she's married to Gary...etc., etc. I also didn't want my "husband's" name to be the same as any of my friends...etc. I finally settled on changing the names around becuase I realised I was complicating things.
