Welcome to Greenbrier

Teresa asked for some Greenbrier photos a while back. I can't say there is much to it but here we go:

Welcome!

Landmark # 1 - The Water Tower

Landmark # 2 - The Red Light (What do you mean which red light, it's the only red light...darn city slickers)

I like this one for some reason. We are two doors down from the animal control/sewage treatment yet we don't hear dogs barking and it doesn't smell like a treatment plant. We do hear ATV's running frequently though.

Would You Be Caught Dead In This Outfit?! - Pt. II

I'm just playing with my new toy I got for Christmas while admiring Lea Anna's fashion sense. She actually has dressed tackier than this on many occasions - this is just the latest example.

And I can't leave out Daniel aka Captain Destructo!

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

My Fire PitAnd by party time it's going to get downright chilly! Never fear, though - we'll have lots to keep you warm. I got the best Christmas gift ever (well, maybe second best after the Greyhound charm bracelet) from Brian - FIRE! To be accurate, Brian got me a cool-looking fire pit so we can safely make fire to chase away the chill.

Colombians know how to keep warm and have a good time - dance! Angela, my friend who is originally from Colombia, wonders what's wrong with people here that they think dancing is reserved exclusively for clubs. I wonder too. I don't dance well, but it doesn't take much to get me going and I have a good time, even if I embarrass the children. Hell, that's half the fun. So plan on getting your butt moving. We're all family or darn near so don't worry about impressing anyone - we know you too well for that to happen anyway. Suzanne is the only one who gets a pass and that's just so her knee can heal up right so she can dance at next year's party.

I'll dance to anything funky. Christina said she would dance if I played The Macarena (got it!). So, what song or type of music gets you moving?

The Wrath of the Preschooler

Miss Lea Anna has dastardly plans for me this Christmas. It seems I did the unpardonable sin of telling her “no”. Anyway, besides having a major hissy fit and telling me She was going to tell Santa to not give me any presents and that He was going to “just put coal in my stocking!”, She stormed up stairs, unhung my stocking, and put her dirty socks and shoes in them. I understand she also had plans to put rocks and TP in it, but Gary nixed that idea. I have been laughing my a$$ over it all evening but seriously - is it normal for a four year old to be this devious?!

Christmas Fun

My department held our annual White Elephant gift exchange today. It was a blast, as usual. A few of the more interesting gifts that circulated were an autographed picture along with a certificate of authenticity of one of the employees(this is the third year it showed up, and no doubt we'll see it again!), a huge bar of two toned soap that said "front" on the white side and "a**" on the brown side, and a very tacky denim moo moo. My big haul for the event? Three packs of toilet paper! I think my coworkers are a bit warped, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It's Right Around the Corner

Only

Thought I'd post a few New Year's weekend details...e-mail me with any additional questions. Can't wait to see everyone!

What will the weather be like in D'ville?

Who's coming?
Find out by going to MyPunchbowl.com and checking out the guest list.

What can I bring?
Go to MyPunchbowl.com and check out the potluck list. Right now we need good fireworks (Charles!) and champagne.

Overnight guests
Please bring a pillow and sleeping bag or the equivalent for your kids. I have a couple of extras if anyone forgets, but don't all forget at once!

If you haven't already let me know when you expect to arrive, please give me a call or send me an e-mail and let me know.

Bring your play clothes. The hiking trails in the subdivision have been cleared so bring your walking shoes unless the weather looks brutal. We also have a nice little half-court basketball area down by the lake and I finally bought a basketball, so bring your game. Or, more appropriately for our bunch, bring your sense of humor and your best smack-talk!

David Returning from Iraq

David will be arriving at Fort Hood Monday. Angela and I are hitting the road tomorrow morning to drive to Killeen so we can be there to meet him. I'm thankful he'll be back, safe and sound, very soon.
