More Halloween Fun

Daniel as usual wanted to be something creepy so I handed him a make up kit and a roughed up shirt and he was ready to go. Lea Anna was better at suckering me into some actual work - at the last minute she handed me her poncho and told begged me to let her be a cheetah. I had just enough material left to make her a tail and some ears. She was so excited about it (crooked tail and all) that it more than made up for the last minute rush.

These were taken Saturday at a party we took the kids to. Inspite of everything going on and all the food, the kids spent most of the time on the trampoline.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

My Fire PitAnd by party time it's going to get downright chilly! Never fear, though - we'll have lots to keep you warm. I got the best Christmas gift ever (well, maybe second best after the Greyhound charm bracelet) from Brian - FIRE! To be accurate, Brian got me a cool-looking fire pit so we can safely make fire to chase away the chill.

Colombians know how to keep warm and have a good time - dance! Angela, my friend who is originally from Colombia, wonders what's wrong with people here that they think dancing is reserved exclusively for clubs. I wonder too. I don't dance well, but it doesn't take much to get me going and I have a good time, even if I embarrass the children. Hell, that's half the fun. So plan on getting your butt moving. We're all family or darn near so don't worry about impressing anyone - we know you too well for that to happen anyway. Suzanne is the only one who gets a pass and that's just so her knee can heal up right so she can dance at next year's party.

I'll dance to anything funky. Christina said she would dance if I played The Macarena (got it!). So, what song or type of music gets you moving?

It's Right Around the Corner

Only

Thought I'd post a few New Year's weekend details...e-mail me with any additional questions. Can't wait to see everyone!

What will the weather be like in D'ville?

Who's coming?
Find out by going to MyPunchbowl.com and checking out the guest list.

What can I bring?
Go to MyPunchbowl.com and check out the potluck list. Right now we need good fireworks (Charles!) and champagne.

Overnight guests
Please bring a pillow and sleeping bag or the equivalent for your kids. I have a couple of extras if anyone forgets, but don't all forget at once!

If you haven't already let me know when you expect to arrive, please give me a call or send me an e-mail and let me know.

Bring your play clothes. The hiking trails in the subdivision have been cleared so bring your walking shoes unless the weather looks brutal. We also have a nice little half-court basketball area down by the lake and I finally bought a basketball, so bring your game. Or, more appropriately for our bunch, bring your sense of humor and your best smack-talk!

Happy Birthday Lea Anna

4 years ago today, a little princess entered into our lives. Being known as one to never skip a meal she must have smelled cake, since she missed her Dad’s birthday and her Mom and Dad’s anniversary by a mere two minutes. Coming from a line of eccentrics, princesses and divas our world has never been the same since. Nor would we want it any other way. My world has also been more colorful since, as have my walls and carpets - which, by the way , washable crayons and markers don’t really wash off of everything.
We celebrated her birthday a day early yesterday with a little cake and ice cream party. I kind of gave up on having an actual party for Gary since the “baby” always over shadows everything and he’s not keen on celebrating his birthday anymore at this point in life. It made her day having company over, not to mention plenty of food and girly presents. Lea Anna even proved her "big girl" status by not locking herself in the bathroom when the thunderstorm passed through last night. She did make a point of telling anyone who disagreed with her (especially at bedtime) “but I’M the BIRTHDAY girl”. She also woke me up at the crack of dawn this morning to ask if she was still the birthday girl.

Yes Lea Anna, you are still the birthday girl.

On another note, Daniel is healing up quite well after tripping and smacking his face on the steps coming home from school Friday. Thank god it wasn't nearly as bad as we first thought, but for a couple of days he looked like he was on the wrong end of a barroom brawl.
