A Halloween funny for the grownups

It's Almost Here!

It's only Six more days till Halloween, one of the greatest Holidays ever. And you know what makes this day so special? Sure, it's fun dressing the kids up in their costumes and all that but technically I can do that anytime of the year. Nor is it the religious aspect - there are certainly more meaningful ones throughout the year and the early church swiped it from the pagans anyway. It is the almighty Reese's Cups - a million artery clogging calories worth of peanut buttery chocolate bliss. I think I'll help hand out the candy this year. One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me.....

Just a Couple More...

So maybe I used the word "couple" a little to loosely. I did take a few pictures of Mom with me that I will restore if necessary, and then scan. They are all in good shape, but a couple of them have some minor spots on them and it'd be good to get them professionally cleaned in case anyone wants me to get extra prints at some point.

Torrance Photos

I think my internal clock is still on Pacific Time. I should be getting to sleep early since I have work tomorrow, but that just ain't happening. We are a damn good looking group though, aren't we? Aunt Janet - how did you manage to dodge my camera? I managed to even sneak at least a profile shot of Hector in.

I miss Mom so much. It's hard to put into words but it comes to me at odd times, like at the dinner table I was remembering the mountains of Parmesan cheese she would put on her spaghetti, or when I saw avocados I remember slaying her baby avocado tree. Which, by the way, she reminded me about last time I complained about the price of avocados.

Nothing More Precious

And now for a moment of serious refection
For in matters of the heart there can be no deflection
No point in hiding behind a fool's facade
When loved ones stare behind pearly gates at God
After no doubt much struggle, grandma passed away
Feels as if I was pestering her only yesterday
Though a past, to me, shrouded in mystery
You know, to me, that's just ancient history
Grandma, you see, was a woman of care and strength
A list of such love would grow a great length
They say that death is part of life and living
I say what's more important is what you have to be giving
So don't think of loss and death on tombstone first sight
Remember her precious gift, the gift of love she left behind.

Putting it all in perspective...

Click on the title of this post for a very informed, easy to understand opinion of the issues on Wall Street and how they came about. Though the article is a little long, I found it to be a quick read and very interesting too. Not to mention, it eased my mind a little bit about the current "crisis". Enjoy...
