Happy Birthday, Jonna!

On this day XX (I'll never tell) years ago, I remember Libby running into the living room with Mom's suitcase saying, "Don! It's time to go!" Somehow you managed to survive the mothering of your big sisters over the years, including learning English twice (correctly, the second time) and being shut in a dresser drawer by crazy friends (Kelly).

I hope your day has been a good one. I hope this year will bring good things your way.

Jazz the Paparazzi Hunter!!!

Work, work, work….

I’ve had nothing to do but school and work the past couple of weeks.

I didn’t get a good nights sleep ‘til last night…

I wouldn’t even consider it “good”… More like, “better” than normal. Oh, well.

I wouldn’t put up with it if I didn’t really like my job.

I’ve seen Cirque du Soleil, like, more than 5 times now… It’s SO FRIGGIN’ AWESOME!!! I think it’s driving me a little crazy though…

Part of my job is making sure people don’t take pictures during the show and because a lot of the other ushers don’t pay attention, I kind of made it my personal duty to see that it doesn’t happen. I didn’t mean to… I just hate the fact that a lot of the people try to be slick about taking pictures when they’re not supposed to, but they’re SO DAMN OBVIOUS. I can see someone taking pictures from waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy across the tent (and the tent is pretty damn huge) and for some reason, no one else seems to ever notice! Therefore, I made it my job.

Unfortunately, though, so has everyone else… I don’t think the other ushers even really pay attention because they know I’m watching out for the cameras. (Which pisses me off because they’re being LAZY BASTARDS!) I can’t help it though! It kills me to let people get away with it when they know they’re not supposed to be taking pictures!!! And then when you say, “HEY! No Photography!” they act like they had no idea and that they’re completely innocent! DOUCHE BAGS!!!

**The irony is that I usually do the same thing (at concert venues that don’t allow cameras)… It’s like I’ve turned against my own kind.**

N-E-wayz…

I think it’s driving me crazy because I keep having dreams about people in the audience taking pictures in the Cirque tent, and in my dream I always freak out.

I just had one last night, where I wrenched a camera out of some guys hand and started beating him with it because he wouldn’t stop taking pictures when I told him to.

See…

I’m going crazy.

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday Teresa and Suza-anne,
Happy Birthday to Yooooooooou!

You both made it another year without being attacked by wild clowns, rabid Teletubbies on crack, or ending up on the six o'clock news, so I think it's been a good one. I hope you get a big whopping piece of cake and ice cream. Preferably chocolate since after all it is you birthday so why settle for anything so inferior such as plain old vanilla?

Since I like posting trivial stuff and since this day is about you, after all - here is a small sampling of the many famous Suzannes and Teresas through the years:

Suzanne Pleshette, American actress
Suzanne Vega, American songwriter and singer
Suzanne Duchamp, French Dadaist painter
Suzanne Somers, American actress

Mother Teresa ,Catholic Nun, Humanitarian, Nobel Peace Prize Winner and Champion of the Poor
Teresa Heinz-Kerry , Wife of John Kerry, also famous for telling reporters to “shove it”
Teresa Wright , American Actress
Maria Theresa of Austria, Archduchess of Austria and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia

Love Ya! Now Y'all go on and "Party Like a Rock Star" - just don't have too much fun or we'll all talk about you ;)

D-DAY? THIS IS C-DAY!

After weeks upon weeks of house hunting and jumping through the mortgage underwriter's hoops and faxing paper after paper after paper, today is CLOSING DAY. I went to work Wednesday, but didn't really work at all. I was too busy receiving personal calls on my cell and at the office or receiving faxes and emails about the house. I had to leave twice to go to my apartment leasing office to obtain the holy VOR (verification of rental) that they didn't want to give me. I thought my boss was going to send me home for sure. Now we are 7 hours away from closing, and Steve didn't get off work last night in enough time to get our U-Haul trailer, so we're 12 hours behind schedule. We wouldn't be in such a rush, but tomorrow at 2:00 I have to leave to take him to the airport because he's going to Germany for 2 weeks. Since he won't be returning until the day before our lease is up, it's up to us to move most of the crap out before he leaves. Whatever we don't get I'll have to move by myself while he's gone. I just wanted to write since I don't know when I'll have internet set up at the house. Hopefully soon, but who knows? Well, I have to run now, wish me luck...

Mom is doing fine

I am super tired, so I thought this was the best way to get in touch with everyone.Besides I am not sure if everyone knows that Mom is in the hospital (Like Jazzmin-did you know that Grandma fell and broke her leg?)Before class I went to see and spend the day with her. They have her on a machine called a C-pap-but now they only have her on at night. However because she is on the C-pap they aren't going to do the rehab at Little company of Mary. They are going to transfer her to the first floor of the same hospital that she is at now. The Doctor told me today that when she can walk with a walker she can go home. I am looking forward to that day. I really miss her.Everyone has been so supportive,though-the nurses, the doctor's, you all : ) I can't think of anything else to say-except I Love you all, and maybe I don't say or show it enough but I do. God bless everyone.

I'm Really Back!

I finally got my DSL modem installed inspite of having to reconfigure my firewall and a bunch of other jazz so I'm back online just in time. I was on the verge of web withdrawals.
I always knew this was a small town (2000 census has just under 5K people), but I never considered it rural until now. I always figured that if cable was available and you could see your neighbors from your front porch you were in the city. Apparently not. I had to fill out a "rural delivery" form with the post office and our garbage man picks up in a dump truck not much bigger than a pick up truck that he backs up into your driveway.
The shiny newness of my house has worn off just a touch after living in it for a week and I'm starting to see little things like just how ugly the paint really is in Daniel's room and how small the kitchen really is, but I don't care. I love it here. Along with the evil racoon that got into my trash last week - my number one enemy at the moment, there is an abundance of trees, songbirds, wild turkeys and butterflies, and a flock of wild turkeys. Thankfully I have not seen any signs of skunks yet. I'm turning the rock garden in the back into a regular planter so I'll have a little garden next spring. Lucky for me Daniel and Lea Anna love digging rocks or it'd take me two years to clear them out. Daniel is still neutral on his new school but sang praises over the cafeteria and the recess.

Burnin' Rubber

Well we went to court for Caitlin's ticket, let's just say we got the hangin Judge. She will have to pay court costs, go to driving school (which she did last Saturday) and do 25 hours of community service. I think it's a little extreme for what she did but I guess she will be more careful next time. I've heard horror stories about the cops here. I guess watch your back....

Ryan's back!

Ryan made it back to the states. He is now back in San Diego for Advanced Training. He is staying in the barracks until he finds someplace to rent. The people he was staying with moved. If you want his phone or email contact me.
