Red Neck Fun Continued

As a side note to Teresa's earlier post "Shooting Guns and Other Redneck Fun", I found out why Daniel has been bugging me to let him join boy scouts. They get to shoot BB guns there. I am in no way opposed to gun ownership, rather I am opposed to Daniel owning a gun - even if it just shoots BBs. If that were to happen it really would be a case of "there goes the neighborhood".
Maybe I'll sign him up for Karate instead.

What is it about little boys (and Jazzmin!) that makes them fascinated with guns?????

Have you heard about those Airsoft pellet guns? They shoot these foam pellets that probably couldn't hurt even if shot at point blank range. Still, I don't like the idea of encouraging kids' fascination with guns. Grownups, however, will find a super-cool Airsoft submachine gun at ThinkGeek - it has that laser sight thing that identifies your target. Bad ass!

A singer named Gen (of the band Genitoturers) once said, "Guns are good and guns are great. Kill the people that you hate."

This is NOT what I intend to do with a gun though...

Atleast if Daniel learns to shoot, you'll never go hungry! ;-P

He's had several that shoot foam pellets. I can tolerate those pretty well because all the foam pellets tend to get lost about the time I start getting annoyed with getting pegged in the repeatedly back of the head.
The Airsoft Sub Machine Gun is ultra cool. I wouldn't mind getting one for myself. And they have more helicopters in stock!
Oh Jazzy, while it is true that you never have to go hungry if you know how to shoot, you must remember that I am a city girl. I prefer to live under the illusion that Farmer John picked my NY strip steak straight from the beef tree this morning, and it has never at any time been part of an actual living breathing animal. Hunting would leave me disillusioned. Besides, deer tastes yucky and I have no desire to try squirrel, possum or any other wild creatures. But now snake is not too bad. It really does taste just like chicken.

airsoft guns hurt like a somebitch... and at point blank range i bet they would pierce skin. a couple of toy hand grenades would be much safer for everyone and wouldn't be as easy to lose.

I would like a toy hand grenade...

I am against the eating of snakes...

I like them too much to eat them...

The snake was from a pearblossom trip when I was 14. I beaned it with a rock (hey lucky shots count!) and this guy Larry gutted and roasted it so I had a bite on a dare.
