This Day in History....

Adrian - you got me started and since this is a special day on two fronts, I have to at least put a few in.

1918 - At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the World War I ends. November 11th was initially set aside to celebrate Armistice Day, however President Dwight Eisenhower signed it into law on May 26, 1954 as a day to honor all veterans.

1921 - Three years after the end of World War I, the Tomb of the Unknowns is dedicated at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia during an Armistice Day ceremony presided over by then President Warren G. Harding.

1967 - Viet Cong releases U.S. POWs

1942 - The Draft age is lowered to 18

Why all this war stuff on this day? Who knows, but it may have been a warning sign for all Edison Elementary teachers of things to come, as a "little" 8lb 15oz boy born TWENTY ONE YEARS AGO in 1988. Have fun and don't end up on the 6:00 news.

Happy Birthday Adrian

Happy Birthday Adrian! Twenty years ago on this day and adorable little baby boy was born with big brown eyes, gorgeous curls, and chubby cheeks that would save him from many butt whippings (but never from the wrath of his big sister).

SCORPIO
October 23-November 21
You need to force yourself to engage in social activities that lie outside of the ordinary****. Friends and family members visit from out-of-town, so explore the season’s happenings. Watch their awe as you navigate your way through the social scene. At work, expect a promotion or raise. Your superiors are paying attention to you, the company’s rising star. On a different note, this month heats up your love life. If you are single, you will meet a new love interest almost definitely. Keep your sights in focus and attuned to your ideals to draw in that special someone.

****I think this means you need to cut down on World of Warcraft

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

On this day in history 1961 - The Mercury program: Mercury-Redstone 3 – Alan Shepard becomes the first American to travel into outer space, making a sub-orbital flight of 15 minutes.

How cool is that, that on May 5th in 1961, the first American travels to space?! Do you smell patriotism? I sure do!

Another cool day in history is (or, WILL BE) May 9th, 2008. Why? Because THAT will be the day that Adrian and I order Daniel's AWESOME Birthday present!

TADA!!!!!

THIS is what Arian and I are getting Daniel, THREE POWER-POPPER BURP GUNS (with additional ammo)!

Now, I know you're all thinking (especially Mom), "Why the F*CK would you get him 3?! One is gonna be bad enough!"

We are getting him 3 for the simple reason that having a toy gun that actually shoots stuff can only be so much fun when you're the only one that has one. HOWEVER, if you have THREE, you can go out with your friends and have awesome gun battles! Whether it's Mom Vs. Daniel Vs. Leanna OR Daniel Vs. Chase Vs. Blake, IT'S SHOOTING FUN FOR EVERYONE!

Besides, the guns are better than what Adrian and I were ORIGINALLY gonna get him. We wanted to get him a remote-controlled tank that actually shoots, but, upon closer reading, it turns out that the tank shoots high-pressure plastic BBs that can be dangerous and painful. Therefore, Adrian and I scrapped that decision...because we care.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!!!!!

Happy Birthday Adrian

Today is special for two reasons - it is Veterans Day, the day we honor all our veterans for the service to our country (unlike tomorrow when it's celebrated by giving government and bank employees the day off work and more parades for cities who wouldn't have them Sunday due to a Titans home game!), and nineteen years ago today a "little" 8.15 oz boy was born. Five months later it was predicted by his Nana Dina "Lisa He's gonna be shorter than you Father!" In spite of being a holy terror to teachers and students alike he grew into a fine young man, and at 6' 5" easily proved his Nana wrong. I hope you enjoyed your cake Aunt Jonna made you and that she remembered to take the giblets out before she put it in the oven. Just kidding Jonna!

Holidaze '06

My Christmas has got off to a great start. Adrian arrived late Tuesday and his checked luggage didn't make the trip with him so the poor guy didn't get to change his clothes until last night. We picked up Gary's daughter Mandy last night as a suprise to him. I'm sure he was wondering what took us so long to run to "Krogers". Boy was he shocked when he saw her walking past our patio! To bad She's only staying until Sunday. We are just waiting for Jazzmin to arrive Tuesday and everything will be perfect.
